Promoting Learning Characteristics in Career Skill Development of Students in the Ratchaprachanukroh School Group, Mae Hong Son Province

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the promoting of learning characteristics in career skills development and development guidelines of the learning characteristics in career skills development of students in the Ratchaprachanukroh School Group, Mae Hong Son Province. The sample group included 141 school administrators and teachers of Rajaprachanukroh School in Mae Hong Son Province and 5 interview informants. The research tools were questionnaires and interview forms. The statistics used in the data analysis were the percentage, mean and standard deviation, and the content analysis and presented by descriptive methods.

The results showed that the promoting of learning characteristics in career skills development of students in the Ratchaprachanukroh School Group, Mae Hong Son Province, in overall, was at a high level. When considered on a side-by-side basis, it was found to be at a high level in all aspects, the arithmetic average was in descending order as follows: social skills and cross-cultural skills, performance and accountability, initiative and self-directedness, leadership and self-responsibility, and flexibility and adaptation respectively.

The development guidelines to promote learning characteristics in the development of students' career skills were that they should focus on being open to comments and suggestions from others, appropriating time, inspiring and directing oneself, continuously developing oneself, and practicing discipline in work, strengthening skills in division of labor according to ability, and working together effectively, cultivating morals, ethics, and responsibilities in work, networking and cooperation, working in networks, and building professional alliances, as well as providing opportunities for students to intern or participate in projects with external organizations.
