Abstract
This article seeks to reviews and find the meaning, existence and roles of People’s media by document analysis. The result of the study found the People’s media emerging under debate of Asymmetric world’s flow of Information contexts. The roles of People’s media as the mechanism to counter the hegemonic belief through binary opposition with the main stream media. The genealogy found the two lines are "Alternative Media" and "People’s Media" that emphasize the roles of People’s sector are outstanding as the political actor for empowerment to negotiation in political space.
