Dream Question of King Milinda: A Relation to Abhidhammapitaka

Abstract

This article aims at exploring connection between Abhidhammapitaka and other Buddhist literatures. This research takes dream question in Milindapahha as a case study. The findings show that the author of Milindapahha links mental characteristics and Bhavangacitta concept in Abhidhammapitaka to resolve dream question especially at the beginning of dream by using similes or the figure of speech frequently used in Milindapahha. The research, therefore, reveals developing Abhidhamma concept, which leads to concrete explanation of mental phenomenon.
