Food and Medicine of Klongsakae’s People in Nakhonluang District, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

Abstract

Klongsakae is one of sub-district in Nakhonluang district, Phranakhon si Ayutthaya province. In academic data have the history of Nakhonluang district, Phranakhon si Ayutthaya province since Krung si Ayutthaya era. In Klongsakae sub-district information show that long time ago this community had plenty of Sakae forest and banana forest. Pasak river pass along the area support the local people settle houses and searching for food material since the past. Pasak river is wide and deep, backing this area become a large river port for heavy industrial logistics today. It’s impact local people way of life especially in food and recipe different from the past. The researcher interesting to studies community history, career, earn a living, food and herbal medicine of Klongsakae’s people by qualitative research. The data collected from primary document, secondary document and interviewed local people to study oral history which retrieved for two generations. The result reveal that in the past Klongsakae people did rice farming, raised animals and brickmaking. Local people fishing in Pasak river and could gain approximately 30 type of fish for recipe and local people use some herbal as the medicine.
