Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aims to 1) study the level of conflict management factors for fostering restorative justice in the Lat Phrao community; 2) analyze factors affecting conflict management for fostering restorative justice in the Lat Phrao community; and 3) propose guidelines for factors affecting conflict management for fostering restorative justice in the Lat Phrao community. A mixed-methods study was conducted. The sample consisted of 400 residents of the Lat Phrao community in Bangkok, selected using a random sampling method. Quantitative research analyzed data using percentages, frequencies, means, standard deviations, and regression analysis. Qualitative research utilized in-depth interviews with stakeholders using a purposive sampling method. A triangulation process was used to analyze data by interpreting documents and writing narrative texts.
The results revealed that conflict management factors for fostering restorative justice in communities were the most significant, with personal factors being the highest, followed by process, organizational, and situational factors. Regression analysis indicated that these factors significantly influenced the fostering of restorative justice (β = 0.604, p < .01), explaining 36.3% of the variance. A constructive approach to conflict management should incorporate individual emotional regulation, community structure development, and situational constraints management. Transparent mediation negotiations strengthen and sustain the community.
