Core Competencies and Essential Skills to Support Change of the Operational Level Employee under Kasikorn Bank

Abstract

This research aimed to study the core competencies and skills necessary to support the changes of operational personnel at Kasikorn Bank. The study employed a qualitative research approach using the Delphi technique. The research was conducted in 3 rounds. The instruments used in the study were: Round 1, a semi-structured interview was conducted with 21 experts, comprising management-level employees from Kasikorn Bank and external academics related to commercial banks. A closed-ended questionnaire was developed as the study's instrument. In Round 2, the questionnaires were sent to the same group of experts. The answers were analyzed using median statistics. In Round 3, the researcher used the focus group technique and selected seven experts. The research results found that the eight competencies were highly consistent. The top three were leadership, performance, and organizational performance. And in terms of change management (Mdn = 4.29, IQR = 0.57), for the 14 skills, the level of consistency was at a high level, the top 3 being career curiosity skills (Mdn = 4.29, IQR = 0.57), honesty and sincerity skills, and career caring skills (Mdn = 4.14, IQR = 0.76).
