Abstract

This article aims to: 1) develop a causal relationship model between business intelligence capabilities, organizational learning, organizational innovation, and competitive advantage, and 2) examine the relationship between business intelligence capabilities, organizational learning, organizational innovation, and competitive advantage. This quantitative research used a mailed questionnaire as a data collection tool, with a sample of 560 automotive parts businesses in Thailand, selected through simple random sampling. Statistical analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation, factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. The results indicated that: 1) business intelligence capabilities positively influenced organizational learning, which in turn positively influenced organizational innovation, and both organizational learning and innovation positively impacted competitive advantage, with statistical significance at the 0.01 level, and 2) the relationship model between business intelligence capabilities, organizational learning, organizational innovation, and competitive advantage was consistent with the empirical data (χ²/df = 2.130, df = 85, p-value = 0.091, GFI = 0.966, CFI = 0.984, AGFI = 0.932, RMSEA = 0.045). The new knowledge from this study suggests that automotive parts businesses in Thailand should consider enhancing business intelligence capabilities to design strategies that promote organizational learning and innovation, ultimately improving competitive advantage. This information can also be used for future investment planning and risk management.
