Relational Leadership, Knowledge Sharing and Innovative Work Behavior of Employees in Municipalities

Abstract

This article aimed to study 1) the level of relational leadership, knowledge sharing, and innovative work behavior of employees in municipalities, 2) the effect of relational leadership on innovative work behavior of employees in municipalities, and 3) the effect of knowledge sharing on innovative work behavior of employees in municipalities. A quantitative method was applied in this research. Data collecting tools are questionnaires, collected from respondents including 1,320 employees in municipalities. Statistical analysis was carried out by using descriptive statistics inferential analysis and structural equations modeling analysis used for hypothesis tests. The research results were found as follows;


1) The results of this research found that (1) the average level of relational leadership is high (M = 3.73, SD = 0.420), the average level of knowledge sharing is high (M = 3.73, SD = 0.42), and the average level of innovative work behavior is high (M = 3.52, SD = 0.501)


2) relational leadership had a statistically significant high effect on the innovative work behavior of employees (TE = 0.242, p<0.01), and


3) knowledge sharing had a statistically significant high effect on the innovative work behavior of employees (TE = 0.961, p<0.01). And model testing result is fit model (χ2 = 289.877; df = 51; p < 0.00; χ2/df = 5.68; CFI = 0.960; NNFI = 0.949; SRMR = 0.0122; RMSEA (90% CI on RMSEA Value) = 0.119 (0.106; 0.133)).
