Identity Creating and Community Products Development to Combine Cultural Tourism Routes of Tai-Khrang (Lao Khrang) Ethnic Group in Nakhon Sawan Province

Abstract

This research study aims to investigate and develop cultural tourism for the Tai-Khrang (Lao Khrang) ethnic group in Nakhon Sawan Province, Thailand. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Data was collected through questionnaires and in-depth interviews with tourism experts. Descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and content analysis, were used to analyze the data. The research findings revealed that training on identity and community product development had a statistically significant relationship. Guidelines for stakeholder participation in sustainable community cultural tourism development were proposed. Cultural tourism routes were classified into main and secondary routes. The training results for young tour guides were at a high level. The study recommends developing community products, promoting stakeholder participation, enhancing cultural tourism routes, and continuously developing the potential of young tour guides. In conclusion, the development of cultural tourism requires cooperation from all sectors, including the government, private sector, communities, and tourists. This research study serves as an important starting point for sustainable tourism development, which benefits all parties involved.
