A Study of Responsibility Development of Students in 21St Century Opportunity Expansion School in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Education Service Area Office 1

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study students’ responsibility conditions 2) to propose ways of developing students' responsibility. The study was a mixed method between a quantitative research and qualitative one in nature. A questionnaire was used for collecting quantitative data from a sample of 274 students, and a Schedule Interview was used to collect qualitative data from 5 experts. For the analysis of data statistics including Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation was used for quantitative data and the content analysis for qualitative data.

The results of research were found that 1) In respect of students’ responsibility conditions it found that students’ opinion on all 4 aspects was high - the responsibility for the school, responsibility for the family, responsibility for the society and self-responsibility respectively. 2) In regard to ways of developing students' responsibility it revealed that it should create awareness for students to love their school as if they loved their own home, develop and fill-in them social responsibility through the teaching process and various activities or multi-media, educate them a social love, generosity, awareness of giving, kindness, volunteer spirit since childhood on routine responsibility, assign them an appropriate and simple activities of how to think, make decision and discipline-abide by, and train them some more self,  social and national responsibilities.
