บทคัดย่อ

บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาเกี่ยวกับลักษณะทางธรรมชาติ ประวัติศาสตร์ท้องถิ่น และสภาพสังคมวัฒนธรรมที่สะท้อนผ่านภูมินามหมู่บ้านในจังหวัดลำปาง โดยศึกษาจากประวัติความเป็นมาและคุณค่าของภูมินามหมู่บ้านจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 985 ชื่อ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าภูมินามหมู่บ้านสามารถสะท้อนถึงธรรมชาติที่หลากหลายของจังหวัดลำปางโดยแบ่งได้เป็นสภาพภูมิประเทศ ภูมิอากาศ และพรรณพืชพรรณสัตว์ รวมไปถึงปรากฏร่องรอยของประวัติศาสตร์ท้องถิ่นของจังหวัดลำปางในภูมินามหมู่บ้าน ทั้งที่เกี่ยวกับเรื่องราวหรือเหตุการณ์สำคัญ บุคคลสำคัญ กลุ่มชนหรือชาติพันธุ์ สถานที่สำคัญ ตำแหน่งที่ตั้งและขนาดของชุมชน อีกทั้งวัตถุหรือสิ่งของสำคัญที่เกี่ยวข้องกับประวัติศาสตร์ของท้องถิ่นด้วย นอกจากนี้ ภูมินามหมู่บ้านยังสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงสภาพสังคมและวัฒนธรรมในจังหวัดลำปาง ประกอบด้วยตำนานและนิทานพื้นบ้าน วิถีชีวิต ความเชื่อและค่านิยม ตลอดจนลักษณะทางการ

The purposes of this article are to explore the geographical nature, local history and socio-cultural aspects reflected in toponyms of village names in Lampang province with emphasis on historical background and values of those toponyms. The 985 village names have been reviewed. It was found that the names reflected the holistic feature of Lampang province, including the geography, local history and socio-cultural aspects. 3 aspects reflected in the village names include: 1) varieties of the nature type such as geography, climates and abundance of flora and fauna; 2) local histories of the province, such as phenomena, important people, social groups and ethnic groups, important places, locations and sizes of community and antiques; and 3) socio-cultural aspects on local legends and folktales, ways of life, folk beliefs and values, and local governance.
