บทคัดย่อ

บทความนี้ทำการศึกษาการเขียนประวัติศาสตร์เกี่ยวกับการเรียกชื่อเมืองที่เป็นศูนย์กลางของลำปางตั้งแต่ในอดีต เป็นที่น่าสังเกตว่า มีการใช้ชื่อที่หลากหลาย อันสัมพันธ์กับพัฒนาการทางประวัติศาสตร์อันปรากฏในหลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์ต่างๆ เช่น ศิลาจารึก คัมภีร์ทางศาสนา ตำนานต่างๆ แผนที่ ฯลฯ ด้วยความที่ลำปางเองเป็นเมืองที่ปรากฏตัวอยู่ในหลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์อย่างต่อเนื่องตั้งแต่ยุคหริภุญชัย ล้านนา มาจนถึงยุครัตนโกสินทร์ การปรากฏตัวของคำอย่าง “เขลางค์” “เมืองนคร” “เวียงละกอน” “เมืองนครลำปาง” ในการศึกษานี้จึงมีบริบทของการเลือกใช้ที่ชัดเจน รวมไปถึงการเลือกใช้คำอื่นๆ ที่สัมพันธ์กับศูนย์กลางการปกครองด้วย ในปัจจุบันชื่อเฉพาะดังกล่าวได้รับการให้ความหมายโดยบุคคล องค์กรและหน่วยงานต่างๆในความหมายที่แตกต่างกันไป โดยที่การเลือกใช้คำในอดีตอันแพร่หลายนี้ยังสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความรู้สึกโหยหาอดีตของผู้คนร่วมสมัยอีกด้วย

This article focuses on historiography about naming the center of Lampang city in the past. Lampang city was called several names that relate to the historical development appeared in the historical evidence such as inscriptions, religious texts, the local legends, maps etc. Lampang is the old city that has been mentioned from Haripunchai Age Lanna Age up until nowadays. It appears in the names of "Khelang" "Muang Nakhon" "Wiang Lakhon" "Muang Nakhon Lampang". This paper shows the context of using these names clearly, including the other words that link with the center of administration unit. Today the specific names about Lampang have been meant by people and many social organizations in many ways. The usage of these names still reflects the feeling of nostalgia to the glorious Lampang in the past, too.
