บทคัดย่อ

สถาพร  สนทอง เปรียบเสมือนเพชรเม็ดงามแห่งวงการนาฏยศิลป์ไทย ท่านได้ออกแบบคิดค้นให้การแสดงนาฏยศิลป์ไทยมีรูปแบบที่ทันสมัย ยังคงจารีตแบบนาฏยศิลป์ไทยได้อย่างเหมาะสม มีความแปลกตา และสามารถปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบให้คนยุคใหม่เข้าถึงงานนาฏยศิลป์ไทยได้ง่าย และไม่น่าเบื่อ ผลงานมีความโดดเด่นเป็นที่กล่าวถึง ว่าเป็นการประดิษฐ์สร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์ไทยรูปแบบใหม่ ที่ยังไม่มีใครเคยกล้าทำมาก่อน มีความคิดที่แหวกแนว ออกนอกกรอบ แปลกจากนาฏยศิลปินท่านอื่น จึงมีคนวิจารณ์ทั้งแง่บวกและแง่ลบ แต่ด้วยความที่เป็นคนมีขันติ และเปิดใจยอมรับความคิดเห็นที่แตกต่างจากผู้อื่น สถาพร  สนทอง จึงยังคงมุ่งมั่นและพัฒนาผลงานตามรูปแบบของตนต่อไปโดยไม่ย่อท้อ  ผลงานยังคงใช้เป็นต้นแบบให้กับนักนาฏยประดิษฐ์รุ่นใหม่ ดังปรากฏในการแสดงของกรมศิลปากรปัจจุบัน

Abstract

          Sathaporn Sonthong is regarded as a shining gem of traditional Thai dance. Sonthong has contributed significantly to modernize the Thai dance whose traditional aspects still remain suitably at the same time. New choreography works that she created are interestingly exotic and are made for the younger generation to access traditional Thai dance easily. Her works have been renowned for their flamboyant style, creativeness and considered very avant-garde for no other Thai artists had ever done what she did. Because of that, there have been critics and comments on her works, both positive and negative. As Sonthong is an open-minded person, she is persevering in her attempt to improve the works in her own style. Her works have been broadly used by choreographers of a younger generation as can be seen in various shows of the Department of Fine Arts nowadays.
