TECHNICAL METHODS FOR RANAT EK SOLO VERSION OF SARATHEE SAM CHAN A CASE STUDY OF DR.THAWORN SRIPONG

Abstract

       This academic paper aims to present the solo performance strategy of ranat ek on the song "Sarathee", a case study on Dr. Thaworn Sriphong, whom the author learnt the song, and his method of playing from. Special techniques found were sabat, khayi, sadau, rua khap look khap dok, rau pen thamnong, rua wiang, ti thang mue, ti kwat and ti khwai mue. Different techniques create different tones that is used to express different emotions, which is important to enhance the texture of the song. These techniques are based on techniques that use the muscles of the arms and wrists, including the use of force in playing. These are important techniques that make the desired sound, resulting in a variety of expressions and show off the skills of the performer.
