บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยเรื่องความสำคัญและองค์ประกอบของดนตรีกาหลอในจังหวัดกระบี่และตรัง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาเกี่ยวกับคณะดนตรีกาหลอในจังหวัดกระบี่และตรัง บทเพลงดนตรีกาหลอในจังหวัดกระบี่และตรัง และความสำคัญและบทบาทของดนตรีกาหลอในจังหวัดกระบี่และตรัง ในการศึกษาใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยทางมานุษยดนตรีวิทยา โดยศึกษาจากหัวหน้าคณะและนักดนตรีกาหลอในพื้นที่ภาคใต้ฝั่ง อันดามัน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า พบคณะดนตรีกาหลอจำนวน 4 คณะ จังหวัดกระบี่ 2 คณะและจังหวัดตรัง 2 คณะ ซึ่งดนตรีกาหลอทั้ง 4 คณะนี้มีเพียงคณะเดียวที่ยังคงรับงานการบรรเลงดนตรีกาหลอ
ดนตรีกาหลอ เป็นดนตรีพิธีกรรมสำหรับประโคมในงานอวมงคลทางภาคใต้ของประเทศไทย วงดนตรีกาหลอในจังหวัดกระบี่ และตรัง แต่ละคณะ ประกอบไปด้วย นักดนตรี 3-4 คน มีเครื่องดนตรี 3 อย่าง คือ 1) ปี่กาหลอหรือปี่ฮ้อ 2) ทน มี 2 ใบ คือ ทนแม่และทนลูก 3) ฆ้อง มี 1-2 ใบ ซึ่งบทเพลงที่ใช้บรรเลงแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ประเภท คือ ประเภทเพลงคาถา และประเภทเพลงทั่วไป บทเพลงที่ใช้ในการบรรเลงมี 12-25 บทเพลง โครงสร้างบทเพลงแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ส่วน คือ ส่วนเกริ่นนำ และส่วนทำนอง
ความสำคัญและบทบาทของดนตรีกาหลอที่มีต่อผู้คนในปัจจุบันมีความลดน้อยลงเนื่องจากความเชื่อ ความนิยม และวิถีการดำเนินชีวิตที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไป ส่งผลต่อการสืบทอดดนตรีกาหลอ คณะดนตรีกาหลอในจังหวัดกระบี่ และตรัง จึงค่อย ๆ ปิดตัวลง
