THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT USING CASE STUDY METHOD ON HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT COURSE OF STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCE, THEPSATRI RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) develop lesson plans using case study method in order to meet the standard criterion of 80/80, 2) compare students’ achievement test before and after using case study method, and 3) evaluate the students’ satisfaction towards the developed lesson plans. The samples, selected by simple random sampling consisted of 32 students who enrolled to learn human resource management course in the second semester of the year 2018. The research instruments included: 1) three lesson plans using case study method, 2) an achievement test with a reliability of 0.862, and 3) an evaluation form on satisfaction towards case study method with a reliability of 0.896. The data were analyzed in terms of percentage, mean, standard deviation, and paired sample t-test.


          The results were as follows: 1) The lesson plans on human resource management course met the efficient criterion of 82.74/83.61 which was higher than standard criterion of 80/80 2) The students’ leaning achievement after using case study method was significantly higher than that before using it at the .05 level 3) The students’ satisfaction towards case study method was at a high level.
