A SURVEY OF APPILED MOBILE DEVICES IN GENERAL EDUCATION OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Abstract

Aims of this study were 1) to study behavior of using mobile devices that were applied in learning activities for undergraduate students, and 2) to survey readiness and barriers of applying mobile devices for supporting learning activities of undergraduate students. Data was collected from 115 undergraduate students who registered in general education course. Samples were come from accidental sampling. The research tool was a questionnaire. The statistics that were used in this research were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.


           The result showed that:


  1. Behavior of most learners have used smart phone for doing learning activities in class and access learning management system (LMS). Sending the reflection homework through learning management system was the highest; whereas, the lowest rate was sending questions or messages to instructors through learning management system.

  2. The key barriers of using technology in learning were complicated system of LMS mobile applications and internet network; in consequence, learners could not use their mobile devices for doing some learning activities.
