Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to examine the concepts in using love metaphors in Vietnamese female poets. From the study, it is found that Vietnamese compare love to landscape, incompleteness, silver and gold, planting, journey and the moon. Love is universal but using love metaphors are different in each country. Besides the difference of love understanding in each culture, the concepts about love have been changed considerably as the time goes by. The study of love metaphors in Vietnamese female poets reflects the concepts of its people toward environment and how they create their works through poetic language interestingly.
