The study on “The Development of Young Tourist Guide to Conserve Local Culture and Tradition in Amphur Uthong, Supanburi” aimed to: 1) develop the curriculum training the young tourist guides to conserve local culture and tradition in Amphur Uthong, Supanburi, and 2) study the result of using the curriculum training the young tourist guides to conserve local culture and tradition in Amphur Uthong, Supanburi. The samples were 26 students or the youngsters in the local of grade 4 and 5 who lived in the community of Amphur Uthong, Supanburi by the purpose of the specific criteria. The research instruments were training curriculum, knowledge test, practice assessment and the satisfaction, evaluation of the study were to analyse data by content analysis, Mean, Max and Min, standard deviation, and the development point analysis.
The findings of the research were as followed:
- The curriculum “ Training the Young Tourist Guides to Conserve Local Culture and Tradition in Amphur Uthong, Supanburi” that the researchers had developed was a short course which took 5 days training, not less than 30 hours which divided as followed: 1) an academic knowledge consisted of basic knowledge were (1) The history and the geography of tourist attractions in Amphur Uthong, Supanburi (2) the speech in the community (3) the basic English of travelling for the young tourist guides, and (4) the professional knowledge were: (1) travelling in the age of 4.0 and the management of travelling from sustainable community and (2) ethical role, courtesy, mental service, and human relationship of the young tourist guides. 2) The field trip and field practice to organize the study of the field trip and field practice which had expert mastery guides and skills for coaching travelling. The trainees took turn to practise skills and practise to guide in real field trip, the evaluation and assessment of the training course used the criteria: “Pass and Fail”. The result of the draft curriculum by the expert found that the consistency index of the parts of the curriculum was from 0.87 to 1.00 and the average value of the curriculum was at 3.90, and the standard deviation was at 0.34.
- The Use of The curriculum “Training the Young Tourist Guides to Conserve Local Culture and Tradition in Amphur Uthong, Supanburi” found that 26 students joined the project passed the training evaluation criteria and had satisfaction towards the project of “Training the Young Tour Guides to Conserve Local Culture and Tradition in Amphur Uthong, Supanburi” was at very good level, Mean was at 2.87, the standard deviation was at 0.32. The opinion of the training project found that the students of the project had learned about the tourist guide profession, the tourist attractions in their own hometown which they could get benefit to work and give information to anyone who are interested in. About the local tourist guides had agreed that such activities could obviously see the talents and competences of the students who join the activities and could persuade them to join the young tourist guide group to attract and helped taking care of the tourists in Amphur Uthong in the future.
