Abstract

The purpose of this research and development was to develop and study the effect of a nursing supervision model in the clinic to prevent pneumonia from using ventilator in the intensive care unit. Phahonphonphayuhasena Hospital Select a specific sample Research tools are: Questions used in group discussions knowledge questionnaire The nursing supervision practice evaluation form and the clinical supervision model satisfaction assessment form. Verify the quality of tools by reviewing content validity from experts. Confidence is checked by the Cronbach alpha coefficient. Qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution, percentage, mean and standard deviation and test statistics.
The results were as follows: 1) The supervision model consisted of 8 components, with a high level of mean scores on clinical nursing supervision for prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia after using the model, and a mean score of satisfaction. On the nursing supervision model for preventing pneumonia from ventilator use at a high level, the supervisory group had a statistically significant mean score on nursing practice for preventing pneumonia at At the .05 level, there was a statistically significantly higher mean (p<.05) of nursing practice for preventing ventilator-associated pneumonia after the model use than before (p<.05), and a mean score of satisfaction. Very satisfied and after using the model, it was found that the incidence of ventilator-associated pneumonia was reduced.
