The establishment of a waste recycling bank with participation of Ban Phae Teen Dong community, Phu Khae Sub-district, Chalerm Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province

Abstract

          This research aims to study the guidelines for suitable establishment of recycle waste bank at Ban Phae Teen Dong community, Phu Khae Sub-district, Chalerm Phra Kiat District in Saraburi Province. A sample used as derived from selection through purposive sampling was 16 people including community leaders, government officials/retired civil servants, community residents, academics, and junk business entrepreneurs. The instruments used in this study were the semi-structured interview forms, and the meeting minutes form of A-I-C workshops and future guidelines meeting. The data collection was performed through in-depth interview and meeting, and content analysis were used to analyzed the data..
          The results showed that
          1. The establishment of a waste recycling bank of Ban Phae Teen Dong community, Phu Khae Sub-district, Chalerm Phra Kiat District, Saraburi Province is feasible. As Phu Khae Subdistrict Administrative Organization pays attention to the waste problem, supports the established budget for materials and equipment, value of return, and 5-year development planning (2018-2022). The management of the waste recycling bank is the responsibility of the Phu Khae Subdistrict Administrative Organization in the form of a committee with community participation.
          2. The process of establishing a waste recycling bank consists of (1) a meeting to clarify the concept of establishing a waste bank (2) appointing a waste bank management committee (3) organizing a community meeting (4) Phu Khae Subdistrict Administrative Organization issues regulations for recycling waste bank management (5) Recruiting members (6) buy garbage (the last step).
