การประเมินสภาพและความต้องการจำเป็นในการบริการห้องสมุดของนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยเปิดที่มีระบบการศึกษาทางไกล

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินและเปรียบเทียบสภาพที่ควรเป็นในการบริการห้องสมุดของนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยเปิดที่มีระบบการศึกษาทางไกล โดยจำแนกตามระดับการศึกษา กลุ่มสาขาวิชา วิธีเรียน และจังหวัดที่อาศัย รวมทั้งประเมินความต้องการจำเป็นในการบริการห้องสมุดของนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยเปิดที่มีระบบการศึกษาทางไกล โดยใช้วิธีวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ นักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยเปิดที่มีระบบการศึกษาทางไกล 2 แห่ง จำนวน 400 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสอบถาม สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ทดสอบสมมติฐานด้วยสถิติ t-test และ F-testประเมินความต้องการจำเป็นด้วยวิธี Priority Needs Index แบบปรับปรุง (PNI modified) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า นักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยเปิดมีความคิดเห็นต่อสภาพที่ควรเป็นในการบริการห้องสมุดโดยรวมและรายด้านในระดับมาก เมื่อเปรียบเทียบตามตัวแปร พบว่า นักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยเปิดที่มีระดับการศึกษา กลุ่มสาขาวิชา และวิธีเรียนแตกต่างกันโดยรวมมีความคิดเห็นต่อสภาพที่ควรเป็นในการบริการห้องสมุดแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 แต่นักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยเปิดที่มีจังหวัดที่อาศัยแตกต่างกันโดยรวมมีความคิดเห็นต่อสภาพที่ควรเป็นในการบริการห้องสมุดไม่แตกต่างกัน ส่วนการประเมินความต้องการจำเป็นในการบริการห้องสมุดของนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยเปิด 4 ด้าน พบว่า ด้านที่มีความต้องการจำเป็นอันดับแรก คือ ด้านสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก(PNImodified=0.39) รองลงมา คือ ด้านประเภทบริการห้องสมุดออนไลน์ (PNImodified=0.35) ด้านทรัพยากรสารสนเทศ (PNImodified=0.34) และด้านประเภทบริการห้องสมุดทางกายภาพ (PNImodified=0.33) ตามลำดับ
