Abstract

The objectives of this research are 1) to analyze the budget for purchasing books and the rate of book use from Thapra Palace Library, Silpakorn University classified by fiscal year and language group 2) to analyze the cost-effectiveness of using books. By studying the cost-effectiveness of using books purchased from Thapra Palace Library, Silpakorn University in the fiscal year 2020–2022 that were borrowed in the Sierra automatic library system, 1,627 volumes from 01 October 2019 – 30 September 2022 he tools used in the research are books data recording form recording frequency counting data created by the researcher. Using Microsoft Excel, the data was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, average, and cost-effectiveness analysis of book use. and the rate of book use.

             The results of the study found that 1) In purchasing books for the fiscal year 2020-2022, a total purchasing budget of 1,601,403.03 baht was used, with an average of 533,801.01 baht per year. A total of 1,627 books could be purchased, including 947 Thai language books and 680 foreign language books. A total of 4,782 times. When separated by language, it was found that Thai language books had more purchases than foreign language books. The average book usage rate is 2.94 times per book. 2) The value of the book is 334.88 baht and when considering the proportion of the number of books used to the number of books. As a percentage, it was found that in the fiscal year 2020–2022, it was 76.15 percent.
