Knowledge Management of Natural Mushrooms Wisdom in Amnat Charoen Province

Abstract

This qualitative research article aims to study the knowledge management of natural mushroom wisdom in Amnat Charoen Province. Key informants were purposefully selected using the snowball technique. Data were collected from January 2020 to January 2022 using in-depth interviews and participatory observation. Data analysis used content analysis methods. Triangulation of data analysis of mean, frequency, and percentage The research results found that important informants There were a total of 37 cases, most of them female, with an average age of 51.9 years, educated at the primary school level. The occupation is farmer, and there were six family members, most of whom lived in the Pathum Ratchawongsa District. The knowledge management process of natural mushroom wisdom in Amnat Charoen Province, it was found that there are 7 steps: (1) Farmers identify knowledge by observing natural mushroom wisdom together with inquiries from ancestors and local knowledgeable people. (2) Farmers create and seek knowledge obtained from their ancestors and local experts by absorbing what they learned through trial and error while searching for mushrooms. (3) Farmers categorize natural mushrooms according to the mushroom's specific characteristics. (4) Farmers compile and refine the accuracy of knowledge from their ancestors and local experts by comparing it with the scientific knowledge they receive from the government. (5) Farmers access knowledge from their ancestors and local experts by asking and observing while searching for mushrooms. Combined with knowledge gained from training with government agencies. (6) Farmers used the method of talking and exchanging knowledge while searching for mushrooms to ask for advice and ask for additional information later to share experiences about natural mushrooms. (7) Farmers learned a variety of wisdom about natural mushrooms, including how to search for mushroom storage areas. How to collect mushrooms How to handle mushrooms after harvest How to sell mushrooms How to cook food in the household and methods for sustainably conserving the mushrooms.
