การประยุกต์ใช้การฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพโดยชุมชนเป็นฐานเพื่อปรับปรุงคุณภาพชีวิตผู้ป่วยจิตเภท

การป่วยด้วยโรคจิตเภทเป็นโรคเรื้อรัง เป็นความพิการทางจิตที่ต้องรักษาและฟื้นฟูต่อเนื่องเพื่อลดความบกพร่องจากการป่วย ลดตราบาป สร้างทัศนคติที่ดีของคนในชุมชน และมีส่วนร่วมในการฟื้นฟู การฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพโดยชุมชนเป็นฐานเป็นแนวคิดสำคัญในการฟื้นฟูผู้ป่วยจิตเภทโดยอาศัย 3 ประสาน ได้แก่ 1) ผู้ป่วย 2) ครอบครัว และ 3) ชุมชน ซึ่งเชื่อมโยงกันอย่างเหมาะสมในด้านสุขภาพ ความรู้ อาชีพ และบริการทางสังคม มีวัตถุประสงค์หลักเพื่อพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตและความอิสระในการดำเนินชีวิตของผู้ป่วย การประยุกต์ใช้แนวคิดนี้เป็นกลยุทธ์เชิงรุกที่ชุมชนมีส่วนร่วมในกระบวนการฟื้นฟู ประกอบด้วย 1) การวิเคราะห์สถานการณ์ 2) การวางแผนและการออกแบบ 3) การลงมือทำ และ 4) การติดตามและการประเมินผล ปัจจัยแห่งความสำเร็จ ได้แก่ การคืนข้อมูลให้ชุมชน การมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชน การพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ การนำอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพของผู้นำ บริบทชุมชน กลยุทธ์/กระบวนการ และกิจกรรมที่มีต่อเนื่อง เพื่อปรับปรุงคุณภาพชีวิต สุขภาพ อาการทุเลา อยู่ร่วมกับผู้อื่นได้ รับผิดชอบ มีงานทำ มีรายได้ รู้สึกเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของสังคม และสามารถใช้ชีวิตได้อย่างปกติ การฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพโดยชุมชนเป็นฐานเป็นบริการทางเลือกในการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้ป่วย ผู้ให้บริการทางสุขภาพจึงควรทำความเข้าใจแนวคิดการฟื้นฟูสมรรถภาพโดยชุมชนเป็นฐาน และการประยุกต์ใช้ให้มีประสิทธิภาพ
