A study on the Cost and Return of Broiler Farming under a Price Insurance System in Closed-House Farming : A Case Study of Yossaporn Farm Ratchaburi Province

Abstract

          The purpose of this research was to study the cost and return of broiter farming under the price insurance method in a closed-house system, using Yossaporn Farm, Huai Phai Sub-district, Mueang District, Ratchaburi Province, as a case study. And to suggest systematic accounting practices and data collection related to agricultural activities. Primary data were cottected through interviews with farm owners, white secondary data were gathered from academic papers, bools, and related research on broiter farming. The study area was selected using a purposive sampling method.

          The results indicate that broiler farmers using the price insurance method achieve favorable returns due to three key advantages 1) Very low cost of chicken feed is important in terms of chicken meat. 2) Good quality chicken meat results in being able to be sold at a higher price. And 3) Closed-housing system reduces the risk of epidemics and increases the survival rate of chickens. Including the farm owner who invested 9,000,000 baht/time. Cost and expenses of broiler chicken farming: 1,057,952 baht/year. Total income from broiler chicken farming: 4,887,900 baht/year. Net profit 1,143,225 baht/year. Return on investment 45.69%. And payback period 1 year 8 months. The information obtained from the research will be useful for farmers and interested persons to use in making decisions on investing in broiler farms.
