A Design and Development of Public Seating For Phu Phrabat History Park Udonthani Province

Abstract

This research project has been studied a chair design guideline for Phu Phra Bat Historical Park Udon-Thani Province, aims to 1) to study the art and culture of Phu Phra Bat Historical Park Udon-Thani Province identity 2) to develop and design a chair for Phu Phra Bat Historical Park Udon-Thani Province, which unique and be wieldy and 3) to study the opinion from target group towards a chair which a new develop chair design.

The tool used for collecting data that were the interviewing form for the informant concern with Phu Phra Bat Historical Park Udon-Thani Province and the designer and the questionnaire towards the product from users namely 100  visitors at Phu Phra Bat Historical Park Udon-Thani Province. The statistics used for data analysis is frequency, percentage mean and standard deviation.  The study results of a chair design for Phu Phra Bat Historical Park Udon-Thani Province found 1) the established area of Phu Phra Bat Historical Park Udon-Thani Provice had a chair but out of order, nor unable supported visitors, from the study a chair should have an appropriate size for a park and support Thai and foreign visitors

2) product characteristic: a chair for Phu Phra Bat Historical Park Udon-Thani Province had a concept by bringing Hor Nang Usa’s shape and form which 2 sandstone layers overlay appearance liked a mushroom, durability, safety and beauty, a chair made from cement, structure was built by steel for more strengthening, a base had a broken pattern that made it look like the stones line, sprayed with dark and light brown that could be harmonious with the Phu Phra Bat Historical Pak 3) the conclusion of  inquiring results from users towards product as follows, the optimal in terms of utility was a high level  (=4.28), the optimal design in terms of beauty was a high level (=4.29), the optimal in terms of safety and maintenance was a high level (=4.16), the optimal in terms of selecting the material for processing design was a high level (=4.30), the optimal of all kinds of satisfaction towards a new develop chair
