Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction: The development of a research management system and mechanism at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Loei Rajabhat University, aims to strengthen internal research management, facilitate the achievement of institutional objectives, and provide a framework for improving research management practices within the faculty. Objective: This study aimed to develop a research management system and mechanism for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Loei Rajabhat University. Method: This qualitative study employed semi-structured interviews to collect data from 30 key informants. The data were analyzed based on the Deming Cycle (PDCA), comprising four dimensions: Plan, Do, Check, and Act. Results: In the planning dimension, the faculty had clear research management planning aligned with university policies. However, limitations remained in the allocation of internal research funding and access to external funding due to insufficient databases and supporting networks. In the implementation dimension, research management procedures followed the university’s prescribed timelines, with clear communication channels and supporting personnel. In the checking dimension, research proposals were systematically screened by experts using comprehensive evaluation forms, contributing to rigorous quality assurance. In the improvement dimension, the faculty should enhance access to research funding, adopt digital systems throughout the research management process, and strengthen staff competencies in using online systems to support effective research administration. Conclusion: The faculty has a clearly structured research management system based on the PDCA cycle; however, greater access to research funding and external networks is still needed. The development of digital systems and staff competence in using online platforms will enhance the efficiency and sustainability of research administration.
