Abstract

Introduction: The Ministry of Public Health focuses on developing personnel's happiness at work by collaborating with various organizations using the tool to measure happiness every 2 years for analyzing and planning comprehensive quality of life development for their personnel. The purposes of this study are: 1) to examine the happiness levels of personnel at Soi Dao Hospital, Soi Dao District, Chanthaburi Province, and 2) to compare happiness levels among personnel based on their personal characteristics. Research methodology: Questionnaires are used as a tool for collecting the data for the quantitative part. The population of this study include 235 hospital staff members. A Sample of 149 participants. The statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, and standard deviation. Hypothesis testing is conducted using t-tests and one-way ANOVA with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) method at a 0.05 significance level. The research result that: The overall happiness level of Soi Dao Hospital personnel is rated at “happy” level. The seven aspects rated at the “happy” level are 1) Happy Heart, 2) Happy Brain, 3) Happy Society, 4) Happy Family, 5) Happy Body, 6) Happy Relax, and 7) Happy Money. Two aspects rated at the “very happy” level are 1) Happy Soul and 2) Happy Work-life. When comparing happiness levels based on personal characteristics, significant differences are found between groups with different genders and career paths. However, no significant differences is found among groups with different ages, educational levels, marital status, number of children, work responsibilities, career groups, work experience, or income levels. Summary: A study of personnel happiness at Soi Dao Hospital found that overall happiness was at a "happy" level, with differences in happiness levels between groups with different genders and career paths, while other factors did not affect happiness levels.
