Abstract

This research aims to develop talking books for teaching and learning basic Thai conversation for foreign students Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, To compare the pre-test and post-test scores of the learners. Meanwhile, it also revealed the satisfaction of the students toward the developed packages. The population used in this research were: There were 50 Chinese students studying in the Thai language and culture program, semester 3 of the academic year 2020. The data collection tools consisted of 5 talking books for teaching basic Thai conversation for foreign students, a set of multiple-choice test (40-item) and a satisfaction evaluation form which contained 15 items of rating scale questions and subjective question. The data was analyzed according to E1/E2 method, mean, percentage, and standard deviation. The results revealed that; 1. Talking books for teaching and learning basic Thai conversation for foreign students Chiang Rai Rajabhat University was at 82.43/83.26 which is higher than the standard criteria 80/80. 2. The average score of international students who study Thai as a second language’ posttest was increased by 25.41 percent after learners have developed Thai conversation skills in daily life as they study with talking book. 3.
