The satisfaction of graduates towards the work performance and characteristics of graduates from the Bachelor of Accountancy program, Faculty of Accountancy, Bangkokthonburi University.

Abstract

This article aims to 1) study the general information of graduates of the Bachelor of Accountancy (B.A.) program at Bangkokthonburi University; 2) study the satisfaction of graduates with regard to the work performance and characteristics of graduates from the Bachelor of Accountancy (B.A.) program at the Faculty of Accountancy, Bangkokthonburi University; and 3) study the needs of graduates from the Bachelor of Accountancy (B.A.) program at Bangkokthonburi University, as well as their opinions and recommendations regarding graduate characteristics. The quantitative research design utilized the concept of desirable graduate characteristics as defined by the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) as the research framework. The research location was Bangkok. The sample consisted of 372 graduates from the 2021-2023 academic year. Purposive selection was conducted using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including basic statistics, means, standard deviations, and chi-square analysis. The results revealed that:

1. Results of the research according to Objective 1: The results indicated that the general characteristics of graduates are mostly department heads. The organization of graduates is a private company. All 372 graduates work in related fields. Most had worked for the past six months.


2. The results of the research according to Objective 2 revealed that, based on the study of graduate user satisfaction with the work abilities and characteristics of graduates from the Bachelor of Accountancy program, Faculty of Accountancy, Bangkokthonburi University, the results showed that graduate users were highly satisfied with the work abilities and characteristics of graduates overall. The highest average scores were in the areas of morality and ethics, followed by intellectual skills, numerical analysis skills, communication and information technology use, interpersonal skills and responsibility, and knowledge.


3. The results of the research according to Objective 3 revealed that, in response to the needs of graduates from the Bachelor of Accountancy program, Faculty of Accountancy, Bangkokthonburi University, the graduate users wanted the program to develop English language and information technology skills, particularly online accounting software packages.
