Lifelong Learning in The Thai Social Context: A Scoping Review

Abstract
This research stems from the widespread adoption of lifelong learning concepts for human resource development in Thai society. The study aims to (1) systematically review and synthesize knowledge related to applying lifelong learning in human resource development within the Thai social context using a scoping review approach, and (2) develop. A concept that clarifies lifelong learning within the Thai social context. This study employs A documentary research methodology, utilizing a scoping review process. The research articles selected for analysis were published in Thai Journal Online (ThaiJo) (2015 – 2024), with 69 articles meeting the selection criteria. Data analysis was conducted using qualitative synthesis, applying Thematic Synthesis to extract key insights. It was discovered from the results that 1) the application of lifelong learning in Thai society for human resource development encompasses 24 categories, with a diverse range of target groups receiving lifelong learning services, including all ages, various professional sectors, and specific target populations; and (2) the conceptual related to lifelong learning in the Thai context consists of three levels: lifelong learning at the policy level, the social structural level, and the individual level.
