The Professional Nurses in the Digital Era Towards Medical Tourism and Their Role in Supporting the Sustainable Development Goals in Large Private Hospitals in Bangkok

Abstract
Medical tourism in Thailand is a rapidly growing industry, with professional nurses playing a crucial role in service delivery. The incorporation of digital technology into nursing practices may significantly impact the sector's reputation and credibility. To adapt to this fast-paced technological landscape, nurses need to enhance their competencies to perform effectively and comply with international standards. This study aims to: 1) investigate the attitudes of professional nurses regarding medical tourism in major private hospitals in Bangkok; 2) evaluate the contribution of nurses to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the integration of digital technology in their services; and 3) propose guidelines for improving the quality of medical services in the digital age. The quantitative research design is based on the framework of skill development and technology application. The research was conducted in large private hospitals in Bangkok, involving a sample of 400 professional nurses selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using basic statistical methods, including percentages, means, and standard deviations. The results indicate that nurses' attitudes toward medical tourism highlight the importance of skill and knowledge enhancement. Furthermore, the integration of digital technology in medical services substantially improves work efficiency. There is also strong support for the role of nurses in advancing SDGs through medical tourism. This research provides critical insights into enhancing the quality of medical services in the digital era, highlighting the need for comprehensive training in digital technologies for nurses to improve efficiency. Additionally, it underscores the necessity of mental health support to alleviate work-related stress in culturally diverse environments while promoting awareness of SDGs to improve access to quality health services.
