The Role of Monks in the Application of Bala Dhamma for Community Development in the Bansa Sub-district Administrative Organization, Sam Chuk District, Suphan Buri Province

Abstract

This article aims to 1) study the participation of monks in community development of Ban Sa Subdistrict Administrative Organization, 2) compare the participation of monks in community development of Ban Sa Subdistrict Administrative Organization by classification according to personal factors, and 3) study the guidelines for monks' participation in community development of Ban Sa Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The research was conducted by combining quantitative research using the survey method from the questionnaire with a sample group using a stratified random sampling principle with 374 people and qualitative research by in-depth interviews with key informants, totaling 9 persons. The research results showed that 1) the level of monks' participation in community development of Ban Sa Subdistrict Administrative Organization was at a high level overall. 2) The results of the comparison of monks' participation in community development of Ban Sa Subdistrict Administrative Organization By classification by personal factors, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference at the 0.05 level. Therefore, the research hypothesis was accepted. 3) The guidelines for monks' participation in community development in Ban Sa Subdistrict Administrative Organization found that (1) Power of wisdom is a moral principle that can be used to perform duties for monks. (2) power of energy or diligence is the development for monks and personnel of local administrative organizations to be diligent, determined, and dedicated. (3)  power of faultlessness is the development of the community of monks and personnel of local administrative organizations with the power of honesty or the power of purity. (4) Power of sympathy or solidarity is the development of the community and the competence of monks and personnel of local administrative organizations.
