Development of English Learning Achievement Using Total Physical Response (TPR) with Multimedia for Mathayomsuksa 1 Students

Abstract

The purposes of this research were (1) to develop the learning achievement in English subject using total physical response (TPR) with multimedia for Mattayomsuksa 1Students, based on the efficiency criteria of 75/75  (2) to compare the English achievement and  (3) to study the satisfaction toward using total physical response (TPR) with multimedia for Mattayomsuksa 1 students. The samples of this research were 54 - Mattayomsuksa 1 students who were studying in 2^nd term, 2018 academic year in Satri Chaiyaphum 2 School, Muang Chaiyaphum District, Chaiyaphum. The research instruments used were: (1) eight English lesson plans based on the total physical response (TPR) Method (2) the English achievement test and (3) a questionnaire used for asking the students’ opinions toward total physical response (TPR) Method the data were statistically analyzed by Mean, Percentage (%), Standard Deviation and t-test dependent samples.

The results of research showed that:

1)  The efficiency of the development of learning achievement in English subject was 78.35/76.13.

2)  The English achievement of Mattayomsuksa 1 students after being taught using total physical response (TPR) Method with multimedia was higher with the statistical significant at the .05 level.

3)  The samples expressed a “high” level of satisfaction in favor of the instruction activities using total physical response (TPR) method with with multimedia.
