A study of Academic Administration: A Case Study of Ban Khun Prathet School, Nong Khaem District, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

Abstract

This study aimed to study the state and problems in the academic administration of Ban Khun Prathet School, Nong Khaem District, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Population were 59 school administrators and teachers during academic year 2560. Data were gathered through the questionnaire in the form of a checklist, and then they were analyzed by using frequencies and percentages.

Research results concerning the state of academic administration showed that school had operated in 9 aspects namely; 1) academic planning: the activity that most school administrators and teachers responded was an academic information system setting, 2) school curriculum management: the activity which most respondents responded was a school curriculum evaluation committee setting, 3) the instructional management: the activity which most respondents responded was a meeting on child-centered awareness, 4) the internal supervision: the activity which most respondents responded was an internal supervision monitoring system, 5) the learning evaluation: the activity which most respondents responded was a meeting among a working group, 6) the media, innovation, technology, and learning resource development: the activity which most respondents responded was a filling system setting on that matter, 7) research for educational quality development: the activity which most respondents responded was teachers were required to do a classroom research, 8) community participation: the activity which most respondents responded was educational community participated in school academic strength planning, 9) school academic assurance: the activity which most respondents responded was school academic assurance report preparation. With regards to problems in academic administration, data showed that most school administrators and teachers responded that there were no problems in all aspects.
