Relationship between Organizational Health and Organizational Effectiveness of Secondary School under the Office of the Basic Education Commission in Nonthaburi

Abstract
This research was aimed to examine the organizational health of secondary schools and its relationship to school effectiveness with respect to the ordinary national examination test results. The secondary schools under the supervision of Office of the Basic Education Commission in Nonthaburi province with a total of 1,819 school administrators and teachers were determined for the sample size. Of these, 317 informants were derived by means of Krejcie and Morgan’s table at 95% confidence level and subjected to simple random sampling based on the school size. A questionnaire consisting of 44 questions based on Feldman and Hoy’s concept was modified in regards to language to fit in the school context and then used as a tool to investigate the organizational health. Content validity examined by five experts revealed the IOC ranging from 0.8-1 and the reliability of the questionnaire was equal to 0.981. Statistics used were frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation and variance. The research revealed the results as follows;
- Overall, the organizational health of the secondary schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission in Nonthaburi province was rated as intermediate. When considering the individual dimension, it was found that the organizational health values of the third dimension-leadership in friendship aspect, and the second dimension-leadership in engagement, were rated high with a mean score of 570.24 and 547.87, respectively. Whereas the organizational health values of the seventh dimension-academic focusing and the first dimension-organizational strength were rated intermediate with a mean score of 486.50 and 478.23, respectively.
- The relationship of the organizational health of secondary schools under the Office of Basic Education Commission in Nonthaburi province to the school effectiveness overall revealed the positive correlation of 0.44. When considering each dimension, it was found that the fourth dimension-influence of administrators, and the seventh dimension-academic focusing, demonstrated a correlation of 0.51 and 0.53, respectively with the effectiveness of the schools in Nonthaburi province.
