Abstract
ในหลักมูลฐานของงานสถาปัตยกรรมในปัจจุบัน เป็นที่ยอมรับโดยทั่วไปว่า “สถาปัตยกรรม (Architecture)” คือ การกระทำที่ซึ่งผสมผสานศาสตร์ความรู้ทางด้านศิลปะ และวิทยาศาสตร์เข้าด้วยกันเพื่อให้เกิดอาคารหรือสิ่ง ก่อสร้างที่มนุษย์สามารถใช้สอยได้ งานสถาปัตยกรรมไม่ ว่าในยุคใด คงเป็นผลรวมทางศิลปะและวิทนาสตร์ ซึ่งความ สัมพันธ์นี้แตกต่างกันไปตามยุคสมัย (Horayangkura, 2006, p. 1) จากการสืบค้นและทบทวนวรรณกรรมที่ เกี่ยวข้องกับประวิติศาสตร์และทฤษฎีทางสถาปัตยกรรม เป็นที่ประจักษ์ว่าสถาปัตยกรรมเป็นรูปแบบหนึ่งของการ สร้างสรรค์ในลักษณะทัศนะศิลป สุนทรียศาสตร์ และความ งามอันมีความสัมพันธ์สอดคล้องกับพัฒนาการมิติทฤษฎี ทางศิลปกรรม ซึ่งเป็นที่ยอมรับในทางทฤษฎีว่า สถาปัตยกรรมเป็น 1 ใน 5 ในกลุ่มวิจิตรศิลป์อันประกอบด้วย จิตรกรรม (painting) ประติมากรรม (sculture) สถาปัตยกรรม (architecture) วรรณกรรม (literature) และ ดนตรีและนาฎกรรม (music & drama)
