CapCut Video Editing Application on Online Platforms in the Digital Era: Analysis of Impact and Future Challenges

Abstract
The digital era has fundamentally transformed the landscape of online video content production, with mobile video editing applications becoming essential tools for creating social media content. The CapCut application represents one of the most popular tools, with 318 million users worldwide. This research aims to analyze in-depth the factors contributing to CapCut's popularity, compare it with key competitors, assess challenges and limitations, and examine long-term impacts on the media industry and consumer behavior. This study employs document analysis, application feature testing, competitive comparison analysis, and case study examination of BBC's successful vertical video implementation. Key Findings: CapCut demonstrates strengths in 15 AI-powered features, TikTok ecosystem integration, and content diversity; however, it shows weaknesses in addressing privacy concerns and its dependency on foreign technology. The BBC case study reveals that vertical video increased viewership by 20-30%. CapCut serves as a crucial tool in democratizing high-quality video content production; however, users should consider data security challenges and the dependency on foreign technology for sustainable development.
