The Relationship Between State Welfare Management and the Quality of Life of the Elderly in the Private Sector in Thailand
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study was conducted with two primary objectives: (1) to compare personal factors and the quality of life among elderly individuals in the private sector, and (2) to examine the relationship between the state welfare management approach and the quality of life of elderly individuals in the private sector in Thailand. A mixed-methods research design was employed, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques. The instruments used for data collection included structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Descriptive statistics—such as means, percentages, frequency distributions, and standard deviations—were used to summarize the data. Inferential statistical analyses included One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows:
1) The comparative analysis of personal factors and quality of life among elderly individuals in the private sector revealed that gender had no statistically significant impact on quality of life. However, age, educational attainment, and income levels were found to be significantly associated with variations in quality of life.
2) The analysis of the relationship between the state welfare management approach and the quality of life among elderly individuals in the private sector indicated no statistically significant correlation, with a p-value of 0.545.
