Abstract

This article aimed to 1) study the consistency of criteria, methods, and conditions for industrial waste management under the Factory Act; 2) provide recommendations on guidelines for amending, improving, or adding to the Factory Act and other laws related to industrial waste management to make them more efficient. This research is qualitative. The tools used to collect data include in-depth interviews. The statistics used for data analysis include data obtained from interviews. The data were analyzed for content and summarized to describe the research results. The research results found that: 1) Factory operators involved in industrial waste management violated or failed to comply with the criteria, methods, and conditions specified in the Factory Act, such as finding industrial waste being illegally dumped or buried in various areas; 2) Recommending amendments to the Factory Act and other related laws, such as issuing a ministerial regulation specifying the types of factories that manage industrial waste to match the methods of managing industrial waste; or establishing a state agency in the form of a state enterprise to invest in industrial waste disposal factories; or requiring factories that manage industrial waste to prepare environmental impact assessment reports; or using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology or the Global Positioning System (GPS) or determining the suspension of the license or increasing criminal imprisonment or determining environmental taxes, etc.
