Abstract

This quantitative research examines the demographic factors influencing university students' demand for participation in recreational activities at Rajamangala University of Technology (RMUT) in the Lower Central Higher Education Network Group. Using cluster sampling, data were collected from 400 undergraduate students across three institutions: RMUT Rattanakosin, RMUT Krungthep, and RMUT Phra Nakhon. The questionnaire demonstrated a reliability coefficient of 0.90. Descriptive statistics were employed, including percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, frequency, and Chi-square. The results revealed that students had the highest demand for outdoor activities (mean = 3.13), followed by special events and festivals (mean = 3.11), and social activities (mean = 3.10). Additionally, demographic factors such as gender, academic year, institution, and faculty showed significant correlations with the demand for recreational activities at 0.05. This study provides insights into designing recreational activities that meet students' preferences.
