Detailed Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation and Submission
The manuscript submitted for publication in the International Journal of Multidisciplinary in Management and Tourism must be an original work that has never been published elsewhere and is not currently under consideration for publication in any other journal. Authors are required to comply strictly with the journal’s regulations, formatting requirements, and submission procedures for all categories of manuscripts, including research articles, academic articles, review articles, book reviews, and special articles.
- Originality and Publication Ethics
All submitted manuscripts must represent the authors’ original scholarly work. The journal does not accept manuscripts that have been previously published, either in full or in substantial part, nor manuscripts simultaneously submitted to another journal. This requirement ensures academic integrity and protects the originality of published research.
In addition, the opinions, arguments, interpretations, and conclusions presented in the manuscript are solely the responsibility of the author or authors. They do not necessarily reflect the views of the editorial board or the journal itself. Authors must therefore ensure that their work is accurate, ethical, and academically sound.
The journal also emphasizes strict adherence to research ethics. Submitted manuscripts must not contain plagiarism, unauthorized reproduction, or any form of copyright infringement. To uphold these standards, the journal requires that the similarity index of each manuscript must not exceed 20 percent, as verified by the CopyCat plagiarism detection program in the ThaiJO system.
- Citation and Referencing Style
All in-text citations and the reference list must follow the APA 7th edition style. Authors are expected to use this referencing system consistently throughout the manuscript. This includes proper citation of books, journal articles, websites, and other academic sources. Accuracy and consistency in referencing are essential because they demonstrate academic rigor and allow readers to trace the sources used in the study.
- Preliminary Formatting and Submission Procedure
Before submission, authors must study the journal’s required manuscript format and prepare the manuscript accordingly. The journal expects all manuscripts to be formatted in advance based on its prescribed structure, section headings, and typographic requirements.
After the manuscript has been formatted properly, authors must submit it through the journal’s online submission system at the designated ThaiJO platform. The manuscript file must be uploaded in Microsoft Word format only, specifically as a .doc or .docx file.
Formatting Requirements for a Research Article
A research article must be organized clearly and systematically. The journal specifies the following structure and font requirements.
- Title Page Information
The beginning of the manuscript should include the following elements:
- Title — use Times New Roman, 14-point font
- Author’s name — use Times New Roman, 10-point font
- Institution/Affiliation — use Times New Roman, 10-point font
- Email address — use Times New Roman, 10-point font
The title should be concise, informative, and clearly reflect the focus of the study.
- Abstract
The abstract must be between 150 and 200 words and should be written in Times New Roman, 10-point font. The abstract should briefly present the essential elements of the study, such as:
- the purpose of the research,
- the nature of the study,
- the methodology used,
- and the major findings.
A good abstract enables readers to understand the scope and significance of the research quickly.
- Keywords
The manuscript should include relevant keywords in Times New Roman, 10-point font. Keywords should represent the main themes, variables, or concepts of the study and help improve discoverability in academic databases.
- Introduction
The Introduction must be written in Times New Roman, 11-point font. This section should explain the background of the study, the significance of the problem, the context of the research, and the rationale for conducting the study. It should also review relevant concepts or prior research where appropriate and lead logically to the research objectives.
- Objectives of Research
This section should also be written in Times New Roman, 11-point font. The objectives must be stated clearly and usually listed in numbered form. For example:
- To develop...
- To study...
The objectives should be specific, measurable, and directly aligned with the study’s design and analysis.
- Research Methodology
The Research Methodology section must be presented in Times New Roman, 11-point font. This section should explain how the study was conducted and may include hierarchical subheadings such as:
- 1.1
1.1.1
(1)
In practice, this section should describe the research design, population and sample, research instruments, data collection procedures, and methods of data analysis. A clear methodology enhances the reliability and reproducibility of the study.
- Research Results
The Research Results section must be written in Times New Roman, 11-point font. It should present the findings of the study in a logical and organized way. Authors may use numbered headings and subheadings where needed. Tables and figures should be included to clarify important results.
For example, the journal provides a sample table showing pre-test and post-test scores with standard deviation, t-value, degrees of freedom, and significance level. Statistical notes, such as “Statistical significance level .05,” should be clearly indicated beneath the table when applicable. Figures should also be labeled appropriately, such as “Figure 1.”
- Discussion of Research Results
The Discussion of Research Results section should be written in Times New Roman, 11-point font. This section should interpret the findings, explain their meaning, compare them with previous studies or theoretical expectations, and discuss their academic or practical implications. Numbered subdivisions may also be used for clarity.
A strong discussion does not simply repeat the results. Instead, it explains why the findings matter and how they contribute to existing knowledge.
- Recommendations
The Recommendation section must be presented in Times New Roman, 11-point font. This section should provide practical suggestions, policy implications, or recommendations for future research. These may be listed in numbered form for clarity.
- References
The Reference section must be in Times New Roman, 11-point font and formatted according to APA 7th edition. The journal gives examples for three common source types: books, journal articles, and websites.
Book Reference Format
Author’s last name, initials. (Year). Title (Edition). Place of publication: Publisher.
Journal Article Reference Format
Author’s last name, initials. (Year). Title of article. Journal Name, volume(issue), page range.
Website Reference Format
Author’s last name, initials. (Year). Title of webpage. Retrieved Month Day, Year, from URL
Formatting Requirements for an Academic Article
The journal also provides a separate structure for an academic article. Although similar to a research article, it is generally simpler and more focused on conceptual or analytical discussion rather than empirical research.
An academic article should include:
- Title — Times New Roman, 14-point font
- Author’s name — Times New Roman, 10-point font
- Institution/Affiliation — Times New Roman, 10-point font
- Email address — Times New Roman, 10-point font
- Abstract (150–200 words) — Times New Roman, 10-point font
- Keywords — Times New Roman, 10-point font
- Introduction — Times New Roman, 11-point font
- Content — Times New Roman, 11-point font
- Conclusion — Times New Roman, 11-point font
- References — APA 7th edition, Times New Roman, 11-point font
This format is suitable for manuscripts that aim to analyze theories, concepts, or current issues academically without necessarily reporting original empirical findings.
Key Points Authors Should Remember
In summary, authors should pay attention to the following essential requirements before submission:
The manuscript must be original and unpublished. It must not be under review elsewhere. The work must follow academic ethics and must not exceed the journal’s permitted similarity threshold of 20 percent. The entire manuscript must be formatted according to the journal’s structure and font specifications. Citations and references must follow APA 7th edition. Finally, the manuscript must be submitted online in Word format through the designated journal system.
