The Satisfaction of People as Service Users upon Stop, Walk and Talk Service : a Case Study of Provincial Police Region 6 in Phitsanulok.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the satisfaction levels of people as service users upon Stop, Walk and Talk service, to compare the factors influencing the satisfactions of people as service users upon Stop, Walk and Talk service, and to study the problems, the suggestions, and the ways to promote the satisfaction of people as service users upon Stop, Walk and Talk service. The case study of Provincial Police Region in Phitsanulok was a survey research. The samples were 400 people sample group by using a questionnaire and it was analyzed for finding statistic value such as mean, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way ANOVA.


                       The general level of the satisfaction of the people as service users upon Stop, Walk and Talk service in 7 aspects was high. When each aspect was considered, it was found that the average of satisfaction towards the police officers who met and conversed was the highest and followed by the aspects on the police officers met and conversed and asked people directly about their problems, the police’ friendliness and informality, the police dressing, the police’ giving knowledge and suggestions, the police’ verbal conduct, the police’s patrol by driving a car, riding a motorcycle and passing by in the areas without stopping to meet and talk with people, respectively.


            The factors influencing the satisfactions of people as service users upon Stop, Walk and Talk service were compared and the people were divided by personal characteristics. It was found that gender, age, level of education, and Provincial Police Region didn’t influence the satisfactions of people as service users upon Stop, Walk and Talk service in all 7 aspects. However, marriage status, career, and monthly average salary influenced the satisfactions of people as service users upon Stop, Walk and Talk service.


            The study on the problems, suggestions, and the ways to promote the satisfaction of people as service users upon Stop, Walk and Talk service was found that people thought that the service provided by the police at present was very important because when the police regularly kept watching over areas to maintain order, were aware and paid more attention to people’s safety on both their lives and properties, people felt relieved when the police met them and asked about how they were living, gave some suggestions and knowledge so that they would keep watching and noticing other people coming into their communities about how they come and if they found something wrong, they could notify to the police directly because the nine provinces of the lower north area still needed inspecting on drug, crime, gamble, and so on. Therefore, the Stop, Walk and Talk service is considered that it is good and people realize its essentials and they require that the Stop, Walk and Talk service be constant in order to accomplish the goal of making a good relationship between the police and people together.
