Publication Ethics

Humanity and Social Science Journal, Ubonratchathani University

The editorial board will appoint qualified experts, at least two individuals, to assess the quality of each manuscript. The appointed experts should possess expertise directly related to or relevant to the content of the articles and should have no conflicts of interest with the authors. The evaluation process will be conducted using a double-blind review, where the identity of the authors will be concealed from the reviewers, and the authors will not be aware of the identities of the reviewers.

The evaluation results can be classified into four categories: (1) Acceptance for publication without revisions, (2) Acceptance for publication with minor revisions based on the suggested revisions, (3) Acceptance for publication with major revisions and resubmission for further consideration, and (4) Rejection for publication. Therefore, to ensure proper academic communication and adherence to international publishing standards, ethical guidelines for publishing research work have been established for the journal's operations. All parties involved are required to adhere to the principles and ethical standards in publishing, following the respective roles and responsibilities.

The roles and responsibilities of the authors are as follows:

  1. The work submitted by the authors must be original and not previously published or disclosed elsewhere.
  2. Authors must appropriately cite the works of others when using any text in their own work and include proper referencing at the end of the article.
  3. Authors must ensure that their research articles are written in accordance with the specified format of the journal.
  4. All authors listed in the article must have actively contributed to the research conducted.
  5. Authors must not plagiarize the work of others and must provide proper citations whenever presenting or referring to the work of others in their article.
  6. Authors must grant copyright to the journal prior to publication and should not publish or disclose their work elsewhere after it has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, Ubon Ratchathani University.
  7. If the research involves human subjects, authors must attach a letter of approval from the Research Ethics Committee, indicating permission to conduct human research. The article should also include the certification number or code provided.

The roles and responsibilities of the editor are as follows:

  1. The editor is responsible for reviewing and evaluating all submitted articles for consideration of publication in the journal. This includes assessing the content of the articles in line with the objectives and scope of the journal, as well as ensuring the quality of the articles during the evaluation process and prior to publication.
  2. The editor must make academic judgments based on merit, without any bias towards the articles or authors in terms of race, gender, religion, culture, politics, or affiliation.
  3. The editor must not have any conflicts of interest with the authors or reviewers and should not use the articles or journal for personal business gain or as their own academic work.
  4. The editor must not modify or alter the content of the articles or the evaluations provided by the reviewers. This includes refraining from blocking or interfering with the exchange of information between the reviewers and the authors.
  5. The editor must adhere strictly to the procedures and guidelines of the journal.

The roles and responsibilities of the qualified reviewer are as follows:

  1. The qualified reviewer must consider the quality of the article as the primary basis for evaluation. This evaluation should be conducted based on academic principles and reasoning, free from personal bias or opinion, and without any conflicts of interest with the author.
  2. The qualified reviewer must not seek personal gain from the evaluated academic work.
  3. The qualified reviewer must acknowledge their own knowledge and understanding of the content of the evaluated academic work.
  4. If the qualified reviewer discovers that the evaluated article is a duplicate or plagiarized work, they must immediately inform the editor.
  5. The qualified reviewer must adhere to the designated timeline for the evaluation process and should not disclose the article's information to unrelated parties.
