Myth of Thai Incense, Practice of Transferring Knowledge to Conserve Cultural Wisdom for Higher Education Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research employs a qualitative approach using the phenomenological research method. The objectives of research are to study the myths about Thai incense among students in the Applied Home Economics Department, Faculty of Home Economics Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, and to study the practice of knowledge transfer for transforming these myths into the preservation of cultural wisdom in educational institutions. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with both current students and alumni who had enrolled in ‘the Incense and Souvenir Course’ as part of the Bachelor of Home Economics program. Fifteen students participated, and the tools used included in-depth interviews and content analysis. The findings reveal that pre-learning higher education students’ points of view include perspectives, beliefs, and expectations regarding Thai incense. This research also offers guidelines for effective knowledge transfer in teaching Thai incense, emphasizing student participation, connecting with learners' experiences, and fostering awareness of cultural values.
