泰籍中文教师对汉字教学中运用观察法的看法
บทคัดย่อ
Different countries have different word formation methods. There are differences between the Thai and Chinese word formation methods. The Thai way is to spell the consonant letters, vowel letters and tone symbols together. The spelled out Thai words can represent one or more meanings, but the Chinese word formation method is a combination of strokes. These pictorial characters are one character representing one meaning. Because some Chinese characters have more strokes than others, it can be a barrier for Thai learners to read and write Chinese characters. It is a problem to help the learners to read more easily. Thai native Chinese teachers will give learners with zero Chinese knowledge about the origin of Chinese characters, the evolution of Chinese characters, the basic strokes of Chinese characters, and the way Chinese characters are formed. If you look deeper into the internal structure of a Chinese character you can see how many characters are inside a word. In order to improve the literacy skills of Thai learners and to help them improve their vocabulary, teachers recommend experimenting with character analysis and mimicry in the teaching process.
In this study, twenty Chinese words were selected from the vocabulary of HSK Levels 1 to 6, which can be divided into the words "聋", "禽", "歪", "吞", "爹","新", "愁", "屎", "袋", "尖", "泉", "辈", "踢", "坡", "晃" ,"梦", "真", "瓶", "烫"and"霜".The results of the analysis were then used to expand the vocabulary by imitating the word creation method. Then, the pictures of these patterns were sent to 30 local Thai Chinese teachers in the group, and interviews were conducted to find out their opinions on using a combination of character analysis and mimicry.
The results of the interviews indicated that teachers should first understand the learning factors of the learners. They should develop their normative learning behaviors; establish good learning habits and guide them to use effective learning methods. Teachers can recommend to Thai Chinese learners the use of character analysis to improve their Chinese character literacy skills. They can also recommend them to expand their Chinese vocabulary by imitating characters. In conclusion, analyzing characters and imitating characters is a recommended method for native Thai Chinese teachers to try out to assist their learners in learning Chinese.
