A Brief Analysis of the Use of English Loanwords in Chinese

Abstract

Nowadays English is a major global language, and the increasing frequency of international exchanges has led to a large number of loanwords from English being introduced into Chinese. In the process of mastering Chinese, at the intermediate and advanced levels, Thai students will learn a lot of loanwords, especially foreign words from English. In order to improve their Chinese language skills, learners need to master not only the basic Chinese vocabulary but also the foreign words in Chinese, and they will inevitably encounter more and more loanwords both in class and outside of class. In order to understand more about the forms of English loanwords, this article focuses on the classification of various aspects of English loanwords in Chinese.
