Abstract

Hong Kong and Macau are especially being watched by China and global democratic countries due to its complete return to China Government under the principle of “One Country Two Systems” that caused relevant changes of politics and management, despite the fact that these two Special Administrative Regions were former colonies of western democratic countries; British Empire and Portuguese Empire respectively.

Particularly, The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (HKSAR), Hong Kong people had not been governed under genuine democracy along 99 years, but they could have the first election on 1995 managed by British Government 2 years before the return to China. That incident delivered some signals to Hong Kong significantly.

For Government of China, there are relevant challenges after the return of Hong Kong to China on 1997. For instance, the effort of harmonizing Chinese people and Hong Kong people, as well as uniting politics and government. For Hong Kong, even Hong Kong economics and commerce are running independently, Hong Kong citizen are not completely content with this since the liberal economy will end on June 30, 2047.

This study explored and analyzed how the principle of “One Country Two Systems” affects Hong Kong management, how Hong Kong would be in the future, how internal conflicts would end, and how Hong Kong people would find the way out for themselves.
