Publications Ethics and Code of Conduct

WIPIT E-Journal is committed to publishing articles based on publication ethics. We encourage our author and editor to refer to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for further details and ethical practices for publication https://publicationethics.org/about/our-organisation. However, we have provided the initial roles of relevant areas based on ethics as follows: 1) editorial board members, 2) author, and 3) reviewer.

1. Roles and responsibilities of editorial board members are as follows:

    1.1 evaluating the quality of the articles to be published in the WIPIT E-Journal

    1.2 maintaining the confidentiality of the author and reviewer 

    1.3 selecting articles to be published after evaluation processes based on importance, innovation,

clarity, and correspondence with the journal’s aims and objectives 

    1.4 ensuring the article to be published has not been previously published and has been submitted

only to the journal 

    1.5 shall not reject the article without reason and supporting evidence

    1.6 evaluating the quality of the article without conflict of interest 

    1.7 in case any plagiarism is found, the editorial board needs to stop the review process and contact

the author directly to rectify the situation in order to reconsider the publication 

    1.8 informing the author about article acceptance/rejection within three months

2. Roles and responsibilities of the author are as follows: 

    2.1 demonstrating the originality of the article that has not been previously published

    2.2 writing the article based on the journal’s article guidelines and regulations 

    2.3 illustrating the appropriate reference elements for in-text citation and references used in the article  

    2.4 shall not duplicate the exact content of the article to be published in other places and shall not

use information in the article without proper citation

    2.5 indicating the funding source of the research/study supporting the article  

    2.6 ensuring that all co-author’s names appeared in the article involved in the research/study

    2.7 informing the editorial board of any issue regarding conflict of interest involved in the article

    2.8 If the article submitted involves any human or animal subjects, the author must have the

evidence to prove that the work was already reviewed by Institutional Review Board (IRB).

    2.9 shall not interfere with the review processes in any circumstance

    2.10 cannot resubmit the article that was rejected by the reviewer in any circumstance

3. Roles and responsibilities of the reviewer are as follows: 

    3.1 maintaining the confidentiality of the article being reviewed 

    3.2 rejecting the article that is indicated that there is an issue of conflict of interest and

informing the editorial board of the issues 

   3.3 reviewing the article based on the corresponding to the journal’s aims, scopes, and

guidelines, with consist of clear and innovative article elements  

    3.4 reviewing the article without bias and subjective issues

    3.5 reviewing the article based on academic criteria and providing useful feedback to the author

for the article’s quality improvement  

    3.6 informing the author of further relevant literature that should be necessarily mentioned in the

article or informing the editorial board of any plagiarism issue related to the article being reviewed

   3.7 avoiding interference with the review processes set by the editorial board
